ESpanix, a critical player in Spain’s telecommunications infrastructure, has achieved the high level of compliance with the Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS, National Secutiry Scheme in English) following an external audit. This milestone, building on its intermediate ENS certification from early 2024, also ensures automatic compliance with the stringent requirements of the European Union’s Network and Information Security Directive (NIS2).

Debora Sainz, Compliance Officer at ESpanix, stated: “We are thrilled with the audit results, which affirm our commitment to the physical and logical security of the data we handle. This certification covers both our neutral node and our data centre in Madrid, enabling any connected company or hosted client to ensure cybersecurity throughout their value chain. This is a mandatory requirement for interconnections with public administration, defense, or judicial entities and provides a robust foundation for business projects.”

The audit report highlighted key findings, including:

  • The organization demonstrates a high level of maturity in technology control from a technical perspective
  • The technical staff exhibits advanced training and skillfully manages the technology

As a cornerstone of Spain’s telecommunications network, ESpanix plays a vital role in ensuring secure data exchange for citizens and organizations. With global data traffic on the rise, the company’s focus on cybersecurity strengthens the entire value chain. This achievement follows a recent network infrastructure upgrade, enabling client connections at speeds up to 400G, marking another step in ESpanix’s growth strategy.
